We collect the minimum needed to learn whether the guide is useful.

Site events we keep

We may record a page opening, product page opening, comparison action, shopping-link click, product identifier, merchant name, language, page path, referring website domain, and time. A random 30-minute browser token is stored only as a one-way hash so the private dashboard can show an estimated session count. It is not a count of unique people. The event table does not intentionally store your name, email address, search text, IP address, user agent, full referring URL, or full browser fingerprint.

Device preferences

Your selected language and temporary navigation state may stay in your browser so the site behaves consistently. These preferences are not treated as an account.

Feedback you choose to send

The feedback form stores your message, topic, language, the Say Why Buy page you identify, and any source link or reply email you choose to provide. Do not send order numbers, payment details, passwords, or other sensitive information. Feedback is not joined to the analytics session token. Reply email addresses are removed after 90 days, or within 30 days after a message is closed. Closed messages are removed after 180 days, and all feedback is removed within 12 months unless a longer period is legally required.

Private owner access

The statistics and feedback dashboard is restricted through Sign in with ChatGPT and a server-side owner allowlist. The signed-in account identifier is used only to decide whether the private dashboard may be opened.

Service providers and merchants

Our hosting provider may process ordinary network and security data. When you open a merchant link, that merchant’s privacy policy applies. Affiliate parameters identify Say Why Buy as the referring publisher.

Embedded brand posts

Some shopping pages display official Instagram posts. Loading an embedded post connects your browser to Meta, which may receive network information and use cookies under its Instagram privacy policy. The post retains the brand’s name and Instagram links. You can block embedded content in your browser; the guide and product links remain available.

Advertising and cookies

Public shopping guides may display Google AdSense ads. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technology to show ads, measure them, and limit repeated ads. Where required, we ask for advertising consent before loading ads.

Retention and choices

Raw site-event records and hashed session tokens are scheduled for deletion after 90 days through routine cleanup. You can enable Do Not Track, block browser storage, avoid merchant links, or leave the site at any time.
